Visual history of apple advertisements

 Visual history of apple advertisements

In 1976, Apple released its very first advertisement for the Apple 1. It resembled a flyer or a magazine more than an advertisement. There was not much imagery and a lot of writing. It appeared as though they were trying to fill up every square inch of room because of the heavy use of text bolding. So much for the design principle of using emptiness (Parkhurst,2017)

The Garden of Eden was the name of another infamous advertisement that aired in 1979. I must confess that when I first saw this advertisement, I laughed out loud. One of Apple's worst advertisements ever has to be this one. (Parkhurst,2017)

  1. It would be nice to have some critical thinking of why these advertising flyers did not work or why are not appeal to the customers. For example, the second one is not to clear what is the purpose or connection of this man with a apple computer.
